On October 13, the
exhibition of information technologies Digitec opened at the MERIDIAN
exhibition center. At the event, Rostelecom presents a unique data center in
Armenia. For the presentation, the
company chose an innovative, interactive and unique way by simulating a data
center, in which the 3D robot Orion takes visitors into the wonderful world of
innovative technologies, explaining the functions and capabilities of the data
center.
As part of this
ambitious project, Rostelecom plans to build more than 200 racks. This will be
the largest data center in Armenia, which will provide secure processing and
storage of data for large and small businesses, as well as government agencies,
providing an opportunity to save huge amounts of money required for the
purchase of expensive equipment and its maintenance.
The facility is
located in the city of Abovyan, just 16 kilometers from the capital Yerevan.
Its strategic location provides convenience and quick access to both local and
international clients, providing a wide range of solutions including cloud services.
The data
processing center is built according to TIER III with high standards of
equipment and infrastructure reliability, which means ensuring double data
copying, power supply from two electrical substations, a backup cooling system,
uninterrupted operation of the data processing center during maintenance and
updates, and other advantages.
This reliable
infrastructure will ensure uninterrupted access to data and 24/7 customer
service.
“We are pleased to
announce that the huge work on the construction of the data center is coming to
its end, and we are
extremely pleased that we already have so much to say about it
at the largest technology exhibition. We would like to pay special attention to
the cloud services of the data center.
Rostelecom Armenia
will provide cloud services to local and international clients. They will
occupy a key position among the offerings, meeting diverse business needs and
providing scalable, secure and efficient solutions, thereby also contributing
to the development of Armenia's digital future. It is noteworthy that the role
of a data processing center of such a scale does not end there. Quite recently,
we were the first in Armenia to introduce a cloud gaming service together with
the global company Geforce Now, and in the very near future we are going to
launch a unique cloud video surveillance service for both individuals and and
for business clients, thereby creating an ecosystem of cloud services,” said
the company’s marketing and public relations department.
Noteworthy is the
exclusive solution of the Rostelecom video surveillance service for business
subscribers, thanks to which each business can count the number of its visitors
according to different criteria: by gender, age, and also measure body temperature.
The data center is
scheduled to be exploited in the spring of 2024.
