OVIO serves as the main partner of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) in Armenia. This unique international competition aims to engage students in practical scientific activities and stimulate their interest in science. Since 2023, the national representative of the Olympiad has been the educational NGO "Contests Lab," with which OVIO continues to collaborate, jointly contributing to the development of this educational platform.
Since 2018, OVIO has sponsored the national phase of the Robotics Olympiad annually, supporting participation in the international phase of the competition. In 2022, the company implemented the "Give a Dream" project aimed at developing robotics, which was launched in Armenia’s regions, establishing robotics labs in Gyumri and the village of Shaghap in the Ararat region.
It is worth noting that the students of the Gyumri lab (GDL team) have already achieved victories. The team took the honorable 1st place in the national phase of the "LegoStart" competition and performed admirably at the national stage of WRO, securing 3rd place.
The World Robot Olympiad serves as a platform through which students deepen their knowledge in mathematics, programming, physics, and engineering, strengthening interdisciplinary connections.
The goals of the competition include:
- Engaging students in practical scientific activities,
- Developing logical and engineering abilities,
- Promoting teamwork skills,
- Encouraging the practical application of theoretical knowledge,
- Uncovering and nurturing students' creative thinking and capabilities.
"Our goal is not only to support participation in the competition but also to inspire the younger generation towards innovation and creativity. The World Robot Olympiad is a fantastic opportunity where theoretical knowledge transforms into practical skills," noted OVIO’s CEO Hayk Faramazyan.
It is important to mention that in the spring of 2024, OVIO launched Armenia’s largest Data Processing Center, stepping beyond the limits of a traditional telecom provider and delivering cutting-edge IT solutions, with a focus on cloud services.
OVIO will continue to support similar initiatives, contributing to the educational and technological development of Armenia’s youth.
