Rostelecom has built another robotics training laboratory. Back in December 2021, the “Build a Dream” project was launched, in the scopes of which Rostelecom and the company’s subscribers jointly took on the mission of creating a technologically stronger future for Armenia.
“Build a Dream” is one of the company’s corporate social responsibility projects, within which 30% of the monthly fee of each new subscriber was directed to the construction of robotics laboratories and the organization of courses for children in a number of localitions in Armenia.
And now, Rostelecom has already founded the 2nd training laboratory of robotics, this time in the village of Shagap, Ararat region. The laboratory was built at Levon Ghazaryan secondary school in Shagap, and is equipped with all the necessary accessories for practical classes: professional Lego sets for robotics, computers, TVs, specially adapted furniture and necessary interior items. In addition, Rostelecom also organized advanced training courses for robotics teachers, covering all expenses.
From now on, children aged 8 years and older in the village of Shagap have the opportunity to attend free robotics courses, get acquainted with innovative technologies, and gain practical knowledge and skills in the field of IT.
“We are pleased to announce that we are taking clear steps towards the technological dream that we are building for the children of Armenia. Today, with the opening of a robotics laboratory in the village of Shagap, we have made another investment so that Armenia becomes more technologically advanced in the future. The “Build a Dream” project is unique in its kind, because in this case our subscribers were directly involved in the creation of the project: thanks to our joint efforts, equal opportunities are created for children of different social groups, regardless of their place of residence. Having acquired high-tech knowledge and practical skills, the children of the Shagap village will not only receive a quality education, but will also discover great potential and motivation for pursuing the professions of the future,” said Hayk Faramazyan, Director General of Rostelecom Armenia.
Back in the spring of this year, Rostelecom created the first robotics training laboratory in Gyumri. It is noteworthy that the students of the Gyumri laboratory (GDL team) scored their first and serious victory in a very short time, taking the 1st place of honor in the republican stage of the Legostart competition. And in the near future, students of the Gyumri laboratory will already participate in the World Robotics Olympiad as part of 2 teams, defending the honor of Armenia.
