From March 23 to 27, the “Telecommunications Week 2026” event took place, bringing together key players in the industry. The event addressed the development prospects of the ICT sector, the need for infrastructure expansion, the investment environment, and the growing role of new technologies.
As part of the event, the First Deputy General Director of OVIO, Boris Demirkhanyan, participated in a panel discussion, highlighting the importance of cloud solutions in ensuring continuous, secure, and efficient business operations. He also presented the company’s experience in applying artificial intelligence tools, emphasizing their role in improving operational efficiency.
Boris Demirkhanyan also spoke about the key challenges encountered during the construction and launch of Armenia’s only TIER III certified data center, as well as the localization of international expertise. He emphasized the importance of developing a data storage culture and placing data within professional infrastructure as a key prerequisite for building a secure and sustainable digital environment.
As part of Telecommunications Week, familiarization visits to the OVIO data center were also organized, attended by representatives of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, members of the Union of Operators of Armenia, and students from the Faculty of Information Technologies and Data Science of the Armenian State University of Economics.
During the tour, participants were introduced to the data center’s technical infrastructure, engineering solutions, data storage and security mechanisms, and system reliability practices. The company’s services, including cloud solutions, were also presented.
In the near future, the company plans to launch the “OVIO Cloud” online platform, which will allow users to connect to the company’s cloud services in just a few clicks and manage them more easily and flexibly.
It should be noted that OVIO is the first and only company in Armenia to have deployed a data center compliant with the internationally recognized TIER III standard and provides colocation and cloud services to both business and public sector clients.
