From October 4 to 6, the "Armenia Marriott" Hotel hosted the international conference of the Institute of Internal Auditors Armenia titled "Governance, Risk, Control: Empowering Collaboration". The conference brought together around 200 professionals from private, public, and financial sectors. The event’s partner was OVIO.
The session on "Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence" was opened by OVIO’s General Director, Hayk Faramazyan, who highlighted the role of corporate governance, risk management, and control in the modern technological world.
"In today’s digital world, governance has become a challenge. As technology evolves, new risks emerge, and IT audit must not only analyze the current realities but also prevent risks and create tools to drive progress. To fully utilize the potential of technology, organizations need to foster collaboration between IT audit and risk management teams. Working separately is no longer viable in today’s rapidly changing environment," noted Hayk Faramazyan, General Director of OVIO.
The conference featured speakers from Armenia, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the UK, the Netherlands, and South Africa, who discussed contemporary challenges in governance, risk, audit, and control, as well as the introduction of new technologies in the fields of information security and artificial intelligence. Discussions also covered the importance of shaping corporate culture and the impact of changes in internal audit standards on both the public and private sectors.
OVIO, one of the leading providers of fixed internet and television services to both individual and corporate markets, launched Armenia’s largest Data Center in May 2024, already successfully offering a range of cloud services and other digital solutions.
The Institute of Internal Auditors Armenia was established in 2012 and is a partner of the global Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA Global)
