ARPANET was the first step
Initially, this network was called ARPANET․ In 1957, the US Department of Defense decided to create a reliable means of transmitting information. At the suggestion of the US Defense Research Projects Agency (DARPA), an attempt is being made to create a computer network, the design of which is assigned to the University of California, Los Angeles, Stanford Research Center, University of Utah.
Together, they set up a computer network called ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network).
After all, in history, October 29, 1969 is considered to be the day of the creation of the Internet. This day, as the first ARPANET server with 24 KB of memory is installed, the first connection exchange between the universities of California takes place.
It is noteworthy that the purpose of this new technology was not to create a modern international Internet system, but to develop a data transmission network that would withstand even a nuclear attack.
Dial-up connection
The next significant step in the development and expansion of the Internet was the dial-up connection, which uses a standard telephone line and analog modem with Internet data transfer rate (DTR) of up to 56 Kbps.

Dial-up connection will be replaced by Broadband, a broadband network that transmits high-bandwidth data over a high-speed Internet connection.

Mobile broadband
